Interestingly, Thomas Aquinas wrote a polemic called 'on there being only one intellect'.

Thanks for the tip about Aquinas and the unity of intellect. He was an enlightened philosopher. I'll have a look at his writing again. All the best.

---Actually, Aquinas wrote a polemic AGAINST this position, which was advanced by Averroes. Aquinas wanted to defend the Church's teaching that there are a variety of rewards and punishments for each soul, which depends on the individual distinctiveness of minds.
